Freebies in the Mail #2!

I got two more freebies in the mail this week so far! I will have more freebies on the way soon, including an Influenster VoxBox!!

The first of the two freebies was a sample of Rogue by Rihanna. This sample had not one, not two, but THREE small wipes! I love the concept, because then you can wear it on three different pulse points at once! Apologies for my naked nail and my hideous knees!

The second of the two freebies was a sample of Maybelline Fitme Shine-Free Foundation. This was the sample from Walmart (Target.com also offered this sample, and I should get that soon) sent samples of 3/12 shades. The shades sent were numbers 120, 220 and 355. I think 110 would be the best fit for me, but I will see what 120 looks like. A $1 off coupon and a full color chart was on the back.

And this may just be my opinion, but I wish that the sample was a very small stick, instead of a peel back type sample.

So that's it for this post!

Catch ya later!

Freebies In The Mail!!

So, I've been signing up to receive several different free samples in the mail! I finally got a few of those this week.

I also redeemed a code for a free Julep polish from an older mystery box, won a giveaway prize, AND someone sent me a couple minis that they were never going to use!

Basically, this week's mail has been fun. Especially my little Canadian box :D Who DOESN'T want 4 free indies (1 full size, 3 minis)?

Starting with the mail freebies:

First we have a Viva La Juicy Noir towelette type sample. It smelled great, and this type of sample gives you the chance to experience the scent on  your skin. It also gives you the chance to smell the dry down.

Next, I received a Schick Hydro Silk razor through a text message. All I had to do was send a text message, click a link that I got in a reply, and fill out the form. Cards with more information and coupons came with the razor. The coupons were for money off shaving cream (the kind I use, SCORE!) and a refill for the razor.

Those were the non nail mail freebies this week! Now for the Julep freebie!
This lovely beauty is Julep Evie! It took long enough to get here. LOL. However, I had issues with my code and had to contact CS. I'm probably actually very lucky to have gotten it at all.

Next is my giveaway win! I won a prize from The Lazy Lacquerista (aka Michelle in Canada). It was from the Carpe Noctem Cosmetics giveaway. I won one full sized indie, and 3 mini indies.

The first polish I won was from Tara's Talons as well as the second one.

Michelle's Polish

Lacquerista Polish

After that was a Pretty & Polished mini
This one is Lollipops and Gumdrops

Finally, the full size indie was from Ruby White Tips
This one is KickAss Topcoat.

That was my awesome giveaway prize. It is always fun to win indies that you may not try otherwise!

I posted my ISO list on Facebook, hoping to swap for some things. I got a message from someone offering to send me a mini of a polish she got in a swap and had not used. SOLD. I got the package today, and she included another mini as well.

First was a Dollish Polish Mini.
Crystal Empire :D

Then, I got a no name Color Club mini
Really pretty red!

That is all my freebie mail since I last posted. I am working on a samples post, and a nail mail post. I want to try more samples, and get more paid for nail mail first :)

That's all for now!

See ya next time!

Reviewing Some Samples and My Goals for the Blog :)

Hi everyone! I used 3 samples this week and I wanted to review them for you!

First is this Too Faced Glamour Gloss. I would have taken a picture of it on my lips, but it smelled AWFUL. It was Play Doh. The brush, color and consistency were all good, but I could NOT get over the smell. This sample will be going in the trash!

Second was a product I have technically tried before, but got a sample of at Sephora. Philosophy Purity Made Simple. This product is very good for people like me. I'm lazy when it comes to washing my face. I don't want to have to use 3 different products in the morning (soap, liquid that makes my face warm, and lotion). It lathers well, and probably had 2-3 uses in the packet.

Lastly was a sample of Julep's Rock Star Hand Creme. I had heard about the floral scent before I tried it. It was not a totally intolerable, strong floral scent. It was subtle, and went away as it stayed on my skin longer. It did make my hands feel moisturized. It did take some time to soak in, but that is probably because I used too much.

So, those are my sample reviews! Now for the other part of this post! I am going to try my hardest to post every single week. The only way to become a better writer is to write. I will also try my hardest to post on the Facebook page at least once a day. Consistency is my first step on the path of becoming a better blogger :)

Until Next Time,

My Facebook Page!

So, I brought my Facebook page back from the dead.

It's so much easier to post a quick update when I am in school and wanting to rip my hair out.

Plus, if I want to get this blog anywhere, I'm pretty much forced to have one. And gain better fine motor skills. And post on here...

But that's all a different post (or maybe the beginnings of a rant?) My Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/BeautyWithAPassion

Notice how there is not a 1 in the URL. That's because there was no blog Facebook from 2011 sitting dormant. LOL

So, if you haven't already, please check it out. You'll get to hear about nail mail, and randomness.

'Til Next Time I Decide To Post,

Wow!! (The "I Made English 101 My Life" Excuse)

Hey everyone! It's been awhile, hasn't it? I was in this crazy blur of school, moving, turning 19, meetingMARTINAMCBRIDE, stuff like that. No biggie. LIES. Way biggie. I'll be going through these events in wordy posts, just so I have this stuff written down.

In April, amid a blur of English papers I never felt were good enough, I found out I won a ticket to Martina McBride's Fan Club Party in Nashville. I was pretty much on the verge of insanity. I had a one way ticket to the la la land of the past DECADE. That's a big deal for a person my age. I cared about English papers and Nashville for the rest of the semester. That was it. I never expected math to go well, and it didn't go well. Sociology was just unfair, but I'm rambling now...

I stopped blogging in March. I was working on what will be referred to as "The Analyses From Hell".  It was my own fault I made it that way. I had never pushed myself harder. Something was in me that was never there before. I just took my life and basically committed it to writing these perfect papers I still thought seemed terrible.

The effort was worth it in the end for the first paper. 100%. My professor told me I had talent, but lacked confidence. As for the last part of that, tell me something I don't already know... I mean, I thought I failed that paper. I mean, when a professor tells you that you're working too hard on your papers, you MAY just have issues. :P

The paper after that though? I WAS EXHAUSTED! That paper was actually stupid, horrible and all of the things I thought were true about my first paper. I mean, it's not like my professor told me flat out that it sucked, but we both knew it was super weak. I wasn't passionate (maybe because it had nothing to do with Martina McBride, but that is NOT THE POINT!) I was bored, and it showed. I put in as much as I could, and it was only enough for a 90%.

But my drive would come back, and my revisions would give me a 99%. Thank the Lord. Then came the next paper...

I spilled my guts. A lot. I was also on a mission to fix my mistakes. The last paper was going to be forgotten after this was over. I thought this paper was the best thing I had ever written. Leave it to Marissa (aka my professor) to bring me back to the harsh reality that writers are never their best, or perfect. I would send a draft for her to look over at least once each paper, just to make sure I was on the right track. I expected her to make a few small corrections, but I got my paper back with 20 comments on it, the most I'd ever gotten. It sucked. I was not so secretly stressing. I ended up sending her another draft, and getting it down to 8 comments. 97% on that sucker, screw revisions.

If I hadn't put everything I had into this one class, I wouldn't have gotten so much out of it. I gained happiness, confidence, and my "How do you like me NOW?" to all the people who never thought I could pull off an A in a college class where effort was involved. I mean, I feel like having the confidence and happiness I have now couldn't have happened without Marissa. She sort of made me realize that I could do this. And just when you thought this blog post couldn't get longer, oh it does!

There was one more paper- A reflection. Reflect on this crazy ride? I wrote my paper way too quickly and easily. I originally had the idea of not letting Marissa see it or hear much about it until she actually read it. I handwrote the first draft. I just wrote how my confidence in my writing had improved, and I was basically saying, "I am so grateful to you and you have no idea how much you've impacted me." But, my confidence in myself was shaken. I thought I was too emotional, too stupid sounding, and that she'd HATE my paper. So, suckingly, I had Marissa look over it. I'd revised it about eleventh billion times.

If you've gotten this far, congrats! You've reached the conclusion! The last conclusion I wrote had me in tears LOL. I miss writing. I miss it way too much. So, in short, I'm back. I may not be a conventional nail blogger, always showing off cool nail art, amazing new indie swatches, or other perfect manicures, but I'm ready to come back into this crazy blogging adventure.

Sorry I've been gone so long! I have hauled a lot of polish, but school is kicking my butt!

I expect to have another post up tomorrow of nail hauling and Bath and Body Works hauling!

I won another giveaway too!! This one had my jaw ON THE FLOOR (actually it might have broken the floor and ended up in my basement. At least I live in a 1 story house? LOL) Okay, I'll spill.

I WON THREE ENCHANTED MINIS. ASDFGHJKL. I've never tried Enchanted, so I am VERY excited to try them!!

So, again, apologies!
